Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, the former Super Eagles midfielder, has picked countries he thinks can lift the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Nigerian former player “was asked what he thinks of holders Senegal or Morocco, who were semi-finalists at the last World Cup,” Okacha speaks with Sportinglife.

“Without a doubt, we have a lot of teams that we can say have what it takes to win,” former PSG and Bolton Wanderers stars replied.

‘As you said, Senegal—I was at their game yesterday, and they gave a good performance.

“Morocco, of course; we know they were impressive at the World Cup, and we expect them to do well.

‘But at the same time, when you look at teams like Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, and Angola, you can’t neglect them; they showed how difficult the AFCON has become.

“You can no longer consider a team an underdog. Of course, there is also the organizing country, Cote d’Ivoire.”

Austin Okocha talks about countries to win the African Cup Of Nations (AFCON), leaving the Super Eagles behind for countries who are likely to go home with the trophy.
