Thiago Silva, the Brazilian professional former defender, has opened up about his move to the EPL to join the Northern London club Chelsea FC.
The Blue’s center-back-defender stated that Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City head coach, was one of the people who spoke to him about joining the EPL.
“No, man, no. I never imagined I would play in the Premier League one day. It was one, with all due respect, football that I didn’t like. Silva chatted with ESPN about never imagining joining the EPL side of football.
I believed there were a lot of aerial balls—get up here, battle there—that’s why. Even though I’m good at it and can adjust, I never truly liked it. I hadn’t planned to play here.
“I believe Pep Guardiola is one of those accountable for this transformation; am I correct? He performs more. The others look to play more because this is fantastic football to watch rather than try to mimic.
And that’s when I started to get curious. At home, I watched more. When Chelsea proposed, I accepted it without hesitation.
Silva has had a very important impact on the London club since joining Stamford Bridge on August 28, 2020.
