The 29-year-old Belgian international player Kelvin De Bruyne made his return after suffering an injury since the beginning of the season in August.
De Bruyne returned to the EPL by playing a FA Cup clash against Huddersfield.
They led 2-0 at the break and went on to win 5-0 in the second half, with Kevin De Bruyne’s comeback receiving the biggest applause of the evening at the Etihad.
The Belgian, who had the armband on, hadn’t participated in a game since the Premier League season opener in August. When he returned to the field, he was met with a standing ovation.
The objectives flooded in. After Bobb’s shot was deflected, Ben Jackson scored his own goal. Phil Foden then doubled the lead, and Doku completed the route with a goal. The current champions, Pep’s squad, are in the fourth round.
