Arsenal, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur were all keen on bringing the Brazilian midfielder back to England.
However, new Barca manager Ronald Koeman is counting on the player for the new campaign.
According to Spanish outlet, Sport, this decision means Liverpool is in line for a £5million, if the Brazilian midfielder plays a further 15 matches for the Catalans this season.
Liverpool in the £145m deal that took Coutinho to Barcelona in January 2018.
